Another "Duets" Album: Jack Rabbit's Suggestion

In 1993 Elton recorded a "Duets" album with a wide range of artists. If sometime Elton would love to repeat the experience, Jack Rabbit have the list of tracks and the artists to sing with. The project might pay tribute to the best songs ever written and might count with some very special partners, combining old mates, young artists and a freak quote too. The track listing might be:

1
& Mary J. Blige
Immortality
(The Bee Gees)

2
& Michael Stipe
Have I told you lately
(Van Morrison)

3
& Alicia Keys
Careless Whisper
(George Michael)

4
& Chris Martin
Desperado
(The Eagles)

5
& Boy George
California Girls
(The Beach Boys)

6
& Axl Rose
November Rain
(Guns'n'Roses)

7
& Barry Gibb
You Are Everything
(Marvin Gaye & Diana Ross)

8
& Rufus Wainwright
The Man Who Sold The World
(David Bowie)

9
& Jon Bon Jovi
The River
(Bruce Springsteen)

10
& Nelly Furtado
Everybody Hurts
(Rem)

11
& Barbra Streisand
Somewhere
(Leonard Bernstein, "West Side Story")

12
& Lionel Richie
Yesterday
(The Beatles)

13
& Robbie Williams
Suspicious Minds
(Elvis Presley)

14
& Paul Mc Cartney
My Generation
(The Who)

15
& Celine Dion
We All fall In Love Sometime / Curtains
(Elton John / Bernie Taupin)

A Facebook group is created for the occasion. If we could reach a high number of people ready to buy this hypothetical album, in case Elton decided to do it something similar, maybe someone from record company have an idea. If not, I would prefer that one here than the 1993 original release. Just dreamin', sorry ;-)

The Eltonite's Day with... Dagmara Lakomi!!!!

Hello Eltonites. The person next to me, is someone very special for me. She's not a long time eltonite, but doesn't matter at all. She loves Elton, she know everything about him and is a true eltonite. You realize that time doesn't matter, whichever the years following Elton we have. More than this, it's for people like her, whom joined the fan community in the 90s or the 00s, that Elton could perpetuate his reputation and expanded more than 40 years. That's an incredible thing. So, let me introduce this wonderful lady, on my side.

Welcome Dagmara, really a pleasure to have you here. So thank you for the acceptation. Could you tell us, please more, who are you?

My name is Dagmara, I live in Poland, I am 19 years old. I love sport and animals :) It is great, I know about it :)

Well, when did you became an Eltonite? Remember the first time you heard Elton's music and what moves you to buy his music?

It was on September 2nd 2oo6. He was performing a concert in Sopot. My mum encouraged me to watch that event on TV. I didn't know about him at all then, and I did. During those 2 hours I couldn't take my eyes off Tv!!! It was an incredible experience for me!! After the concert I "provided" myself with his music at once :)

What was it like seeing Elton for the first time and how many concerts have you been at? And also, could you tell us if you have ever been in touch with him, got a signed autograph or even, spoken with him or with other members of his band?

I will see Elton on May 30th the first time:() I would love to be in touch with Him and I hope that my dream someday comes true!!:) yeeeee:):) it must come true!!!!!

Of course!! So how should be your dreamed concert? And which one of Elton's live shows you thought you should be there, if you could, even back in time?

My dreamed concert should be like usual Elton's concert(I think that they are all such)!! You know, unpredictable, full of good taste, magical, once crazy and once touching!!! It is enough for me when I hear His Voice and live it must be a wonderful experience.

Sure! Which is your Elton's item that you really appreciate, for being hard to get or for the happiness you've got to have it?

For the happiness to have it: all His songs, pictures, specially the photos which I have hanged on my room's walls:). And in future it will be my hearing (one hearing like Elton wears:):)) which I'm planning to have when I achieve something important to me.

Wow! What is like being an eltonite in your country? Which are the polish preferences in music and which is Elton's place there?

HEARTILY?! I don't know because I've never wondered of it. Polish preferences are very different. Elton rarely performs in Poland but when He is here, He choose Sopot or Warsaw as I know.

Any polish compilation or recording on Elton to remark?.

Unfortunately nothing as yet.

Ok! What do you think about the new project with Leon Russell? What could we expect about this album? And about T-Bone Burnett as the producer?

I can hardly wait to it! I think that it will be a great album:)

And finally, could you tell me your five favourite Elton's songs in running order, for my AllSongsList?

Oh. It is so hard to choose... but let me think... it will be a little inaccurate choice: Funeral for a friend, Crocodile Rock, Turn the lights out when you leave, Philadelphia Freedom, Someday out of the blue:):) I don't know exactly. For sure I forgot some songs!

Thank you very much. Would you want to add some observation or suggestion, or something you want to say to your other eltonites?

My pleasure :) as far as not. but I'll think of it!

Thank you Dagmara. It's been a proviledge for me to interview you. I wish you have a great time in your firsdt Elton concert and enjoy it!! The first one is unforgettable, for sure.
